Innogo Hotel

For lunch or dinner at the cafe, I recommend the suancai yu (boneless sour vege fish), which tastes great with rice. I wasn't keen on the coconut chicken, unless that's your kind of thing. This isn't a 5 star hotel, but I still found it good, even better than hotels I've stayed at in Hong Kong. The room was spacious and clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful, and the transport links made it easy to get to Dongmen and other places of interest.

The walls are so thin that I could clearly hear the people next door talking and flushing the toilet. They kept talking until 2am, and I thought it would finally be quiet once they went to bed. No such luck, I could hear them snoring too. The disposable bath towel was paper thin as well. It took one staff member 20 minutes to process 5 rooms before we got our keys. I'm never coming back.

The reception staff were friendly and courteous, except for the supervisor or manager on duty on 17June around 10.16am. We wanted to stay another night and asked for a better rate. I should have booked through agoda. I didn't need to be insulted by the supervisor/manager, who said I shouldn't stay at their hotel if I couldn't afford the rate offered. She needs to change her attitude or just be a housewife! The hotel is inside an old building that has been refurbished. It's very close to the Metro and next door to Shangrila Hotel. Breakfast was satisfying. Bring your own towel if you're not used to disposable ones. They're for your hygiene!!!

The elevator was the one issue. Otherwise, everything was nice: good service for the price, good food, and very good laundry service. The room seemed a bit small to me, though my husband thought it was small. It was a wonderful hotel.
