Breakfast was a struggle, with more people than tables. We found seats, but lots of guests were walking around with plates looking for somewhere to sit. The hotel is large and old fashioned, and it was extremely crowded during my weekend stay, with lots of tourists. I was there for business, and the worn-out room and elevators that couldn’t keep up with the crowds made it a poor fit. It might work well for tourists, but I wouldn’t choose it for business.

Getting to Qingdao airport or the railway station is easy since the hotel is pretty close, so I’d recommend it to tourists who need that. It was a really nice surprise: a wonderful building and room, with kind people. They don’t speak English, which made things difficult to understand, but they still tried to help. Our room was a good size and very clean, with a king king size bed, clean sheets, and a nice bathroom. We also had a good breakfast.

8/10
The elevators take forever, and the staff speak very little English. Still, this is one of the first hotels in Qingdao, and it has a good location close to the expats area. The rooms are nice and big, and the breakfast buffet is fantastic.

4/10
The breakfast was excellent, easily a 5/5. Everything else was terrible. I booked two rooms, and both had a strong smell of smoke. The rooms creak, feel old, and made the hotel an unpleasant place to stay. I can only give it two stars because of the breakfast.

There are several restaurants in the hotel, so it was easy to find a meal without going far. I also liked the breakfast buffet, with its huge selection. I stayed for a few days while visiting Qingdao and really enjoyed it. The hotel is beautiful, and I’d definitely book it again if I return to Qingdao.
