There are plenty of restaurants nearby, since the hotel is close to Chengyang District's city center. Even though it's central, the hotel is quiet. It's clean and friendly, as Holiday Inn hotels generally are, and the menu is easy for foreigners to eat from.

We were right among international eateries, and Why+M brewery was just a two-minute walk away. It had some of the tastiest beer we've had. The hotel is well designed, in a superb location, and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The staff were professional, helpful, and friendly. In my experience, hotels in China tend to offer better service and more space on average than their European counterparts.

The cigarette smell is still strong, even though smoking is banned on all but one floor. The carpets and curtains need a really good clean. You can't drink the tap water. It's a good hotel otherwise.

It's a good hotel, with lots of restaurants nearby. Muslim restaurants are easy to find close by too.
