Grand Madison Qingdao Harbour-view Central（Former Qingdao Farglory Hotel）

Good location and value for money.

The free upgrade to an ocean-view room was a lovely surprise, since we'd originally booked a city view. Our family of four stayed over the October Chuseok holiday, and the clean bedding and extra towels made things comfortable. Breakfast was included for two people each day, but we all enjoyed it together. The lobby seemed newly remodeled and had a pop-up-store feel. Tea and coffee were always on hand while we waited for taxis. Wi-Fi was hard to connect to, though, and communication was difficult because the staff member didn't speak English. We ended up buying another SIM card.

The room was huge for just the two of us, almost big enough to play soccer in, and early check-in made the trip more comfortable. We liked the view and the reasonable price, and it's close to Osagwangjang, so I'd like to come back. Cleanliness was the weak point: it didn't feel like a hotel, more like an Airbnb, and looking closely at the tide times was a bit of a letdown. I stayed there without looking too closely. Soundproofing wasn't great either, but I'm a deep sleeper, so I slept fine.
