Getting a taxi meant jumping through hoops at the front desk, and sometimes the staff’s attitude made it feel as if we were staying for free. We also couldn’t get extra blankets because the hotel simply doesn’t offer them. The air conditioning wouldn’t heat the room above 20, so it was freezing. The TV was all in Chinese, and we couldn’t work it even after asking for help. For international guests, service wasn’t great: few hosts spoke English, and some signs weren’t in English either.

The breakfast buffet was nearly out of most food and drinks by 9am. At check-in they also needed a 5,500 deposit on my UK credit card. It’s a mediocre hotel, and we stay there for work because it’s near the office.
