Narada Resort &Spa Qingdao, Jimo

The peaceful private courtyard was a highlight for our family, and the clean, spacious Qiyun Courtyard Twin Room at Narada Resort Qingdao made the stay comfortable. The resort’s traditional Chinese style is beautiful, and being inside Jimo Ancient City made sightseeing easy. Breakfast had a good range of Chinese dishes and simple Western choices. There’s a lot of room for luggage, and the closet is spacious and convenient, though the bathroom feels cramped and not fully separated. The rooms are quiet and generally clean and pleasant, but the shower wasn’t very clean, the bathtub was a bit dirty, hot water controls weren’t intuitive, and the sink clogged quickly. Staff weren’t especially accommodating. The hotel is styled after an ancient Chinese castle, though it feels more like a hotel than a resort. Since it’s inside Jimo Ancient City, you can walk around, with a few shops and street vendors to see if the weather’s nice. Baolong mall is nearby, about a 10 yuan taxi ride for its many shops. The hotel is a bit far from the city center, so it works well for a night but may be harder for a longer stay when looking for other places. It’s good value, with reasonable rates even in peak season, and can be a useful alternative for a night on a busy day. For Didi pickups or drop-offs, ask for the underground parking lot, which connects conveniently to the hotel basement. Right in front of Jimogoseong Fortress, Heopengdeo is pricey but delicious.

The hotel and its surroundings make for a distinctive, relaxed getaway, though it’s a bit far from Qingdao’s downtown tourist sights. The staff were very friendly. Seven, the hotel manager, speaks English fluently and was helpful even before I booked. As a foreigner, I really appreciated how good an experience they made it.

The facilities and service left me very satisfied. For an overnight stay in Jimogoseong, it was nice to see the night view and take a morning walk. Didi can conveniently take you to the hotel’s underground parking lot. The lobby is on the second floor, right where you enter from the ground floor. Take the elevator down to the first floor and go straight to find a small gym with showers and towels, plus the breakfast room with coffee. From the lobby elevator, walk deep inside and turn left; from the room elevator, it’s immediately on your left. Outdoor terrace rooms are on the first floor, while rooms with just a veranda are on the second. The first-floor terraces can be seen from the second-floor rooms directly above, so bear that in mind. You can raise the blinds in the shower area to look outside for privacy. *August 27-28, 2025.
