The heater never made the room warm, and I was cold every night even though it was winter. Cigarette smoke filled the place and kept coming through the heater. It was so overpowering that I barely noticed the sewer smell. I knew it was cheap and didn't expect much, and the mattress was hard as stone, which I hadn't expected to be good anyway. For the location and price, I gave it one star.
We had a great view and lots of room, and the price felt like excellent value. The subway is nearby, with the beach only a five-minute walk away. The front desk office looks a bit shabby, but the staff were lovely. They even lent me an umbrella when it started raining. I'd definitely recommend it.
Clean rooms and good service, plus the location was really convenient.
I'm Korean and would recommend giving this place a try if you're visiting Qingdao. ㅎㅎ
