Qingdao Huayang Youth Hostel

The front desk staff were very nice, and the location was okay, about 15 minutes from May 4th square. The room felt old, the bed wasn't comfortable, the pillows were flat, and the air conditioning didn't work well. It stayed around 75F, so I felt hot. At the pool, we had to buy two caps for 100 to get in. Once inside, we found a lesson with five kids taking up five lanes, leaving us hardly any room to swim. Guests should be told if a lesson is using the whole pool. At checkout, the front desk asked us to rate them 9 or 10. I booked through hotels.com and wrote about this, but hotels.com never published my review. I chose the hotel because its hotels.com rating was 9.2. Of course, if hotels.com doesn't publish ratings below 9, the reviews would have to look good.

The room had a great view and was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, with one firm pillow and one soft one. The bathroom was stocked with toiletries, and the shower had strong, hot water, so be careful. The location is excellent, near Fushansuo station on metro line 2.

Friendly, kind staff and a clean hotel. Erin was so good.

The room was clean and neat, and the hotel sits in the middle of an area with restaurants, malls, and attractions nearby. Breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
