The hotel is handy for getting to lots of good restaurants. My room was cleaned really well by Sun Qing Bo, and coming back to it after she’d been in always felt refreshing. She also made sure I had extra bottles of water and replaced the amenities every day. I’m happy with my stay.

The breakfast had a big selection and cost around ¥480, so the value was very good overall. The rooms were very good, and room service was quick. Communication and understanding were okay. There was a mix-up when I checked in, and I didn’t get my Marriott gifts. I’ve already complained about that. It’s about 30 minutes from the airport and 50 minutes from Qingdao West Railway.

There’s a good range at breakfast, especially the fruit, and the room was spacious and clean. Staff are always at the desk, and when I went down late at night with a room problem, they responded quickly. If there’s an indoor or outdoor swimming pool, the water quality is well managed. This is the best choice in Qingdao.

The bathtub takes ages to fill, and the water never gets hot. The air conditioner is too cold even after I change the setting. The TV only has one channel, introducing Chinese traditional culture. Nobody speaks English, and they don’t seem willing to try. Don’t think you’re the center of the world. Do not even dare to call this a 5 star hotel.

The location and ambience are both great, and the food has a good variety. I did notice flies around the food fairly often, which needs to be dealt with. The hotel is neat and tidy, though the interior feels somewhat old fashioned. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, with all the amenities. It was a great experience. Recommended.
