There was no air conditioning in rooms 802 and 808, and no ventilation either, with the windows sealed. We were told the entire hotel had no air conditioning. After we complained, they sent an upright fan, but when we insisted that the air conditioning be fixed or that we be moved, they said there was no air conditioning anywhere in the hotel. It was an unpleasant and unhealthy situation. The rooms were also dated and needed refurbishment. I checked in on 10th May, 2026, for a business trip. At check-in they asked for double the Trip.com amount and simply called the difference “taxes.” Then a substantial extra amount was taken from my credit card without warning as “a deposit.” I’m a Marriott Bonvoy member and know deposits aren’t requested unless a guest plans to sign bills during the stay. Avoid this hotel at all costs. Marriott should remove its branding rights for “failure to maintain brand standards.” In Malaysia and other Marriott hotels worldwide, even when there’s just one guest, all facilities are fully functioning for that guest’s comfort.

From 1 Sep to 5 Sep, I had a very pleasant stay. The service was fantastic, especially from the male staff member at reception, who was remarkable. I had a couple of questions and requests during the stay, and he sorted everything out perfectly. Many thanks.

Top-notch service, this is my favorite hotel wherever I have a layover. There’s a halal restaurant nearby that serves the best Lanzhou beef noodles and stir-fried tomato and egg.

The hotel was excellent in all areas. Rooms were a little warm, as they are in many places in China, since the heating is controlled centrally despite the room controller. They kindly brought me a portable air conditioner, which worked great. I didn’t eat, but my tram enjoyed the buffet breakfast, and the coffee was great.

This morning, the bus driver mishandled my Rimowa cabin luggage and scratched and damaged my newly purchased bag. I’m disappointed with my experience at Sheraton. The hotel manager didn’t respond to the incident or offer any service recovery. There wasn’t even an apology from the hotel. The manager tried to shift the blame to avoid apologizing and taking responsibility. Poor management and service training, and very poor customer service.
