The room itself felt quite comfortable, and it was clear the housekeeping staff had worked hard to keep it clean. That stood in sharp contrast to the pitch-black corridor outside. About an hour after I reported the problem, I opened the door and it was still completely dark. I took the second video, a 10-second clip, then, and you can see group members walking past. I felt extremely sorry for him. On the evening of April 18, 2026, a tour group checked in at around 9:45 PM. At 9:57 PM the lobby lights went out, and the sudden change from a bright, imposing lobby was immediately noticeable. When I got to the second-floor guest room area, I was even more surprised. It was completely dark, with only a few extremely dim lights for guests to drag their luggage through the corridors and read their room numbers. The 3-second video below shows how dark it was outside the elevator. I won’t attack anyone without reason. Both internal lines to the room were busy. One was completely faulty, and the other only amplified the audio and couldn’t be disconnected, so I had to go downstairs to report it at the front desk. Three staff members were busy taking photos of the Taiwan Compatriot Permits and had no time to deal with what I reported. Perhaps the SOPs valued by the higher-ups meant staff could only arrange the four Taiwan Compatriot Permits for photos as quickly as possible, instead of addressing the more frightening dark corridor at the time 🤷‍♂️.
