Weter and Mameaw looked after customers really well, and my room was clean and beautiful for 232 baht a night. The location worked perfectly for getting around. From Qingtao Jiaodong airport, I went down to the B floor and took metro line 8 for nine stops, then line 1 for eleven. At Zhongshan road station, exit D is by the left corner; from there, turn left from the hostel and walk 40 metres, then take the first left through a beautiful lane for 0.5 km to reach Wheat Youth Hostel. If you use exit A, you'll come across CHAGEE on the corner of Boshan road, opposite Jiaozhou road. Maps show the airport about 60 km from central Qingtao, but the trip cost just 7 yuan Chinese money. In my view, I really respect the Chinese government for making transport high quality, cheap, and convenient for people.

I was excited about staying in a youth hostel and meeting people, so it was a shame that no one was there when I arrived at 1:30 a.m. on Friday night. There was no bell, and I couldn't call the number without a Chinese SIM card. A 7/11 worker down the road called for me, got no answer, and then contacted the police. They tried knocking and calling too, but couldn't reach anyone at the hostel. In the end, they drove me to find another hotel. I'd suggest putting a bell on the door or an English sign saying 'Hostel'.
