Sheraton Qinhuangdao Beidaihe Hotel

The hotel is very clean, with a sense of history but without feeling old. Staff are friendly, rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms have bathtubs. I stayed four nights, and housekeeping was thorough, with amenities and water replenished perfectly. Breakfast is included and has an incredible range of dishes, both Western and Chinese. On the first morning I took a little of everything and nearly couldn't finish it all. Some people may be put off by the price on travel booking sites when breakfast is included, but I think it's worth it. It's about a 40-minute taxi ride from Qinhuangdao Station, costing 55 yuan (1155 yen), and a little closer from Beidaihe Station. Taxis aren't always waiting outside, but the front desk can call one and it arrives in 2-3 minutes. There are cheaper guesthouses and inns for backpackers nearby, but I'd recommend this hotel if you want a little luxury and peace of mind.

The rooms are large and clean, and the hotel is nicely located near the beach and the busy Liuzhuang area. There's a gas station right next door, but dining options are limited and mostly local restaurants. Nearby supermarkets are quite basic too. The hotel has a large children's playground and an inflatable children's pool on the basement floor. The main pool is rather small, and the locker area in the changing rooms is especially cramped. Buffet dinner was okay, though the selection wasn't extensive. I'd eat out, but be mindful of hygiene and prices at outside restaurants.

It's considered a very good restaurant in the Qinhuangdao area. The food is quite good, and the service is decent.

I'd like the hotels to provide better service.
