The Zhenguo and Renshou East and West Stone Pagodas stand in the temple grounds, and together they're China's tallest pair of stone towers. Zhenguo Pagoda was also used as a filming location for the hit game Black Myth: Wukong. Kaiyuan Temple (Kaiyuan Temple) dates back to 686 AD in the Tang Dynasty and is about 1,400 years old. Its mix of cultures and architectural styles reflects Quanzhou's place as the "Emporium of the World in Song-Yuan China." Be sure to see the huge old banyan trees beside the courtyard.
For a view of both Twin Pagodas in one shot, try the outdoor balcony on the third floor of Chagee outside. On weekdays, there aren't many people around.
A lot of young Chinese men and women come here in traditional outfits, and the place seems popular for photography. There are professional services available to help visitors get high-quality pictures, too. It's a very interesting spot to visit.
The temple is a beautiful sight, with majestic stone pagodas. It sits along XiJie, where preserved buildings have been opened up as tourist spots. We visited on a Saturday, when there were plenty of people, but the crowd was manageable. Kaiyuan Temple was founded in 686 AD during the Tang Dynasty, though most of its current structures date from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Its Zhenguo (East) and Renshou (West) stone pagodas are the tallest stone pagodas in China. (credits from Google)
Entry to the temple is free. The old town is a lovely place to explore, with lots of souvenir and tea shops.
