At about US$96 a night (RMB 680), the price felt very reasonable. C&D Hotel (Yuehwa hotel in the local language) is one of the city's oldest and most distinctive hotels, right in the heart of town, and I was delighted by that location. It has plenty of amenities, including a large swimming pool and a well-equipped gym. My room was spotless and practical, with all the amenities I'd expect from a hotel under this prestigious brand. The decor leaned toward classic oriental design. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough, replenishing water, toiletries, towels, and other things a traveler might need. Breakfast had a magnificent buffet with both Western and Oriental choices.

Breakfast had a huge range of food from different cuisines, including cold salami, soups, and Chinese dishes, and I found it excellent. The buffet was full of options every morning. My room was spacious, with plenty of room for my luggage, so it felt cozy and homey. The beds were comfortable, and the room itself was great. The staff were very kind. There's a pool and spa, though you need a shower cap for the pool. The room service menu also has lots to choose from. On the 28th floor, where my room was, the executive lounge serves pastries and some cold cuts for afternoon tea each day. It's a peaceful place. I'd definitely return to this hotel if I came back to Quanzhou.

I come here for business trips about 4-5 times a year and have been staying here for several years. The rooms were updated a couple of years ago and are now nice and comfortable. The staff are good and accommodating.

The clean, convenient bedroom and bathroom are complemented by a spacious lobby lounge and a great breakfast restaurant. It's a 5-star hotel in the city center of new town of Quanzhou.
