Be careful, this felt like a scam. They suggested I cancel my reservation because prices had dropped, saying they'd waive the cancellation fees and I could pay the much cheaper new amount in cash. I did that. They said the cancellation money would be refunded within 5 to 8 days, but 15 days later nothing had come back. I still can't reach them.

The staff were friendly, though there was some road noise. There are plenty of inexpensive restaurants nearby. We didn't eat at the hotel, but breakfast is available. For a 2-star place, I thought it was absolutely excellent, especially the bed and linens. We were allowed to check in at noon instead of the usual 3:00 PM without an extra charge. They also kept our luggage for free from 7:00 AM to noon, and we used the hotel's toilet, which was a bit rundown. The room was fairly clean and adequate, with decent bedding and one towel per person. It had a TV, kettle, hairdryer, ceiling fan, and we borrowed a free safe deposit box from reception. We didn't use the air conditioning. The bathroom has a full-length shower and toilet in the same room, with shower gel, shampoo, toothbrushes, and toothpaste provided. The glassed-in balcony had a chair, drying rack, and a mosquito net on the door. The hotel is on the second line of Sanya Bay Beach, around 5-7 minutes from the beach in the Phoenix Island area. Wi-Fi is free.

The map showed the wrong address. The address on the business card was at the intersection of Tuanjie Road and the old railway line. In the room, it was dim, two bulbs weren't working, and I noticed soon after checking in that there wasn't enough toilet paper.
