It’s an old hotel that Doubletree has reused without much renovation. It looks nice at first glance, but plenty is broken. The balcony door won’t close, and even a little wind makes the room sound like a typhoon. People smoke by the emergency stairs, so nearby rooms get the smell. Breakfast is overrun with families and children, who seem to be the hotel’s main audience. Hilton status got us no upgrade, and service at check-in felt pretty uninterested. It’s about 14 km from Sanya centre, at least a 30-minute car ride. All manageable, but still not great.
