Huayu La Floret Resort Yalong Bay

The one person who really tried to improve our stay was Miko at the front desk. She was the best staff member we dealt with and genuinely made an effort to help. The rest of the experience was awful, and I’d tell people to stay away. Communication was a constant struggle. I mainly speak English, and most staff seemed unable to communicate beyond taking payment. When I called ahead, their English had seemed very good. Getting anything done meant pushing hard, and room service calls often took several tries because it took so long for anyone to answer. The hotel felt understaffed, and other guests were rude and inconsiderate. The water from both the sink and bathtub was yellow. They only changed my room after a long argument with the manager. In both rooms I saw, one with a lake view and another with pool access, several lights didn’t work. The air conditioning was malfunctioning too, and the chairs and sheets were dirty when I arrived. The pictures of the resort, rooms, and nearby area were misleading. There isn’t much to do unless you pay a lot to get to other places. The rooms are overpriced, breakfast was overrated and so bad that it made my friends and me sick. We went to the Ritz Carlton to eat instead, and the food there was amazing. The business center also charged me for using it without telling me until afterward.

They surprised us with a cake and a necklace for my son’s birthday. The hotel was really thoughtful.

The rooms were clean, the staff were nice, and the sea is nearby. A nice place.
