Iapcc II Tangla Hotel

We expected the quality and service associated with Accor at Pullman Oceanview Sanya Bay Resort & Spa, but the stay was disappointing and didn't feel like an international five-star resort. We wouldn't stay again or recommend it. The hotel looks old, with worn furniture and tired interiors, and doesn't seem to have been renovated in years. Housekeeping mainly took out the trash and changed towels; the bed linen was changed only every four days. Breakfast was very limited and seemed aimed almost entirely at Chinese guests. There were no fresh juices, proper pastries, dairy alternatives, or Western and vegetarian-friendly choices. Most staff, including at reception, spoke little or no English, which made communication difficult for a hotel marketed as international. Despite its name, the property isn't right on the beachfront. The public beach is shared and requires crossing a road, with very few sunbeds and little in the way of beach service. It didn't match the luxury beachfront experience advertised. The resort also felt generic, without much atmosphere, a clear design identity, or a personal touch. It seemed geared more toward mass tourism than individual travelers looking for a refined stay. It may suit large tour groups with low service expectations, but it fell far short of what we expected from an international Pullman resort.

Our group of seven stayed in a three-bedroom ocean-view apartment at Pullman Oceanview Sanya. The view was amazing, with sunrise and sunset visible from every room's balcony, and you could even enjoy the sea view from the bathtub. The service crew were great. The mattresses were old and needed replacing, so we told the hotel manager. The duty manager responded right away and changed them so we'd sleep better that night. As Accor members, we also enjoyed hi-tea and happy hour at the Red Sun Bar on the 17th floor. The staff there were fantastic. Thanks for the hospitality, we'll be back!

The hotel's own underpass leads to the beach, and there's a complimentary shuttle into the city centre. We also loved the sunset views from the 17th floor bar. Though it was built in 2011, it's been kept in great shape in true Accor fashion. The rooms are comfortable, with baths that open toward the sea, and the breakfast buffet has a decent selection plus at least one new special of the day. Kate at the Business Centre made our stay extra special with her attentiveness and kindness. The concierge staff were generally lovely, helpful, and courteous too.

Nikki at reception arranged a birthday cake and decorations in our room for my wife, and also managed to get us a late checkout. Eric from F&B looked after us especially well, along with Cindy, Leila, and Cora. The F&B director was very accommodating too. My wife and I spent four days here in July 2019 and had a very happy stay. The large hotel was clean and well maintained, with four or five big swimming pools and plenty of beach chairs. A tunnel leads to the hotel's own section of beach, and the airport pickup was efficient and well priced. Breakfast had a huge selection, and the BBQ buffet dinner was very nice. We'd happily recommend the place to friends.
