Jinghai Hotel

I had a good stay. The place is for the general public and is kept clean. It was built solidly back in the day, and although it's been in use since the 2000s, everything still works. Breakfast was okay; we didn't have lunch there. Our room had a balcony overlooking the roof. There are some flaws, sure.

Slava, our guide, was very helpful, and the trips to Yanoda Park and Romantic Park will stay with me. I enjoyed Hainan Island and was impressed by Jinghai Hotel Resort. The room was comfortable and breakfast had plenty of variety. Thank you, we'll come back to China!

The beds were really comfortable, the bathroom felt luxurious, and breakfast was tasty, though the menu seemed aimed mostly at Chinese guests, who make up most of the clientele. The pool was warm and pleasant, even if it wasn't Turkish-sized. The beach nearby was clean, but it took a bit of walking to reach water deep enough to your neck. Room quality varied. Some rooms I saw weren't clean, with flood marks on the walls and stained furniture. The minibars were empty. Each room required a $100 security deposit, returned at the end if nothing was broken.

I had a facial at the salon called "Tibetan Sanatorium" in the hotel, and what happened afterward was awful. My face swelled up like a bubble from a severe allergic reaction. The cosmetologist disappeared quickly. They gave me some ice and sent me away without offering any real help. They also begged me not to tell anyone about the expensive treatment. I eventually went home and barely got through border security with my face still so swollen. I asked for an official record confirming the procedure, but they blocked me everywhere, despite assuring me they were a very reputable company. (( Their treatments seem very questionable and cost a pretty penny. Be careful.
