Atour Hotel Jing'an Temple Nanjing West Road, Shanghai

That breakfast was a highlight, with loads of choice, some Western dishes, and a robot making noodles in the morning. The women keeping the dining area neat were lovely, too. Laundry was easy to manage with three washers, three dryers, detergent, and the option to have it brought to the room. There was also a steamer and a station for cleaning white shoes downstairs. We stayed at Atour Shanghai for several nights at the end of our China trip, after staying at Atour in Beijing at the start. Both were very pleasant, and check-in here was smooth and well organized. Our room was clean, a decent size, and stocked well. Towels were replaced each day, though Beijing did a better job of refreshing things daily. The bed was firm but comfortable, and the room had an openable window, electric curtains, and a decent view. The location isn't right in the middle of everything, but most Shanghai sights are close enough. A large mall is about a 1km walk away, with a Luckin Coffee at the end of the street. The mall also has a Tokyo matcha for green tea fans. The bathroom covered the basics, though a bidet would have been nice, as many hotels in China have one. Atour Beijing replenished the tea every day, while Shanghai didn't. The green and black tea were still quite nice, but we had to ask for the tea set to be cleaned and replenished. We were both happy with the stay and would recommend this hotel chain to anyone visiting China.

There was complimentary tea and water in the fridge, and the room itself was spacious, clean, and tidy. Around 10 PM they served porridge for late-night guests. Breakfast had such a wide selection that you could eat there three days in a row without repeating a dish. The hotel and the Holiday Inn next door have the same owner, and this one is a little more upscale.
