Blossom House Shanghai on the Bund

We loved the complimentary photo session. The photographer was professional, patient, and efficient, and it was much better than we expected. The location worked well for us over Christmas 🎄. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of the Bund, then about 10-15 minutes along the river to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. There’s also an amazing view from the lobby on the 7th floor. Breakfast had lots to choose from, including Shanghai-style dishes like scallion oil noodle, wonton soup, xiao long bao, steamed buns, and rice porridge, plus Western options such as bread, toast, salad, and yogurts. The warm soup served each night was another favorite, especially on cold winter evenings after a long day.

Right next to Yuyuan Garden, with a mini market nearby and plenty of restaurants that stay open late, the hotel was conveniently placed in the city centre. We loved the room too: spacious, well equipped, and well maintained. It was cleaned daily, and the complimentary minibar was refilled each day. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the location, facilities, and design throughout our stay this month. We’d definitely come back.

I ended up staying here for seven nights as a solo female traveller, even though it wasn’t my original plan, and the whole stay went smoothly from check-in to check-out. My room was roomy, the bed was really comfortable, and the first minibar round was free. The high-tech toilet that opened and flushed automatically was fun to use. Housekeeping was great and always friendly. Staff offered fresh towels when they saw me, and the free laundry room came with detergent. It can get busy on weekends, so doing laundry during the week or in the daytime might be easier. Yuyuan Garden Metro, the Bund, restaurants, and malls are all within walking distance. Not every staff member speaks English, but I managed with a translation app, which locals often use too. Everyone was helpful. The place was clean, quiet, and felt safe.

The room was clean, though I think its layout would suit a couple better than kids. Staff were nice, but they didn’t speak much English, and breakfast was good. The hotel is right in the city centre, with The Bund, Yu Yuan Garden, and Yu Yuan Garden Station all less than a five-minute walk away. There are plenty of places to eat and local convenience stores nearby, and Yu Yuan Station makes it easy to get to other attractions.
