Boyang Boutique Hotel

The room was spacious for a boutique hotel, and I was impressed by how clean it was, including the bathroom and bed linen. The Wi-Fi was decent and stayed stable. The hotel was basic, as I expected, and about a 20-minute drive from Pudong International Airport in the Pudong district. There are quite a few street stalls within walking distance, with plenty of food choices, though the vendors don’t speak English, plus a minimart for basic supplies. There isn’t a metro station within walking distance. The staff were friendly but didn’t speak any English. We had to type into our phones to translate for each other. Since the hotel serves China Eastern Airlines transit passengers, I expected staff to know or understand some basic English. This was a one-night stay on China Eastern Airlines’ complimentary overnight hotel layover. A “Didi” taxi to The Bund in downtown Shanghai in the middle of the night cost RMB100, and the return trip was RMB120. My airport driver arrived at 6.45am, so I couldn’t have breakfast before checking out. The desk staff kindly gave me two buns and a small carton of milk.
