The historic building gives the stay a special feel, and the views over the Bund and Huangpu River are amazing. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional, always ready to help. I’d definitely stay here again when I’m back in Shanghai.

It’s a wonderful place to stay, with a beautiful historic building and lovely service. The location is convenient for walking to the Bund, Nan Jing road, and all the foreign style buildings, right by the river and wai bai du bridge.

The location is great, but the rooms are disgustingly dirty and the whole place reeks of cigarettes. Most of the electrical outlets don’t work. The loose circuit breakers in the box also make me concerned about safety, and the fire escape masks expired years ago.

Our local colleagues booked us here for a work trip to Shanghai. It’s an old property, but it’s very well managed, and being right on the Bund is a huge plus. The rooms are big and well maintained, the buffet spread is very good, and the staff try to help however they can. Language is the biggest barrier, though. The food may not suit Indians much, since we like spices and salt in everything and those are missing from the original Chinese food. There are some vegetarian options, and plenty of fresh fruit and juices. Still, it was a fantastic hotel.

We were upgraded to a suite when we arrived. It was spacious, clean, and well maintained, with the old-world charm of a historic building. We love antiques and vintage style, so it suited us perfectly. The breakfast room has a stunning view of the bridge, creek, and river, and the neighborhood is both peaceful and touristy.
