CaptainNo 5YouthHotel XianxiaRoad Branch

There are several ways to stay here: shared six-bed rooms with privacy curtains, private rooms with shared bathrooms, or private rooms with their own bathrooms. The hotel-style rooms are competitively priced, and there are vending and laundry machines on site. Staff are friendly and helpful, though you might need a translation app to communicate. The main drawback for me was the karaoke bar one floor below. It starts playing music at 8 in the morning, which you could treat as an alarm clock 😆. Getting to the Shanghai Metro on foot isn't especially convenient, but a shared bike can get you to the subway in under 10 minutes. Or you can call a Didi (Chinese Uber).
