Conrad Shanghai

The location made it easy to get around Shanghai, and my room was luxurious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. I looked forward each day to the astonishing views. The restaurants had excellent food and ambiance, and the rooftop bar was a highlight, with a beautiful setting, wonderful drinks, and stunning nighttime views of the Shanghai skyline. I was there on a business trip, and from the moment I entered the lobby, the pleasant atmosphere made a lasting impression. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout, always ready to assist.

Kelly and Vicky were great hosts in the executive lounge, and the view from our room was spectacular. They took care of everything we needed, and all the staff added a personal touch and were always helpful. We had a wonderful stay at the Conrad Shanghai. We used the exercise room but not the pool, which is very large for swimming laps. It's a wonderful hotel and city, and we're looking forward to our next visit.

The spot on Nanjing Road made it easy to head out after dinner for a stroll or some window shopping, with loads of malls and shops around. Food is just as easy to find downstairs. I booked partly because I’m a Hilton member and had seen Conrad Shanghai recommended by a few IG vloggers, and it lived up to what I’d heard. The staff were warm and professional, breakfast had plenty of good options, and the gym and pool were both great. My room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and soft pillows. I’d happily come back.

The dinner buffet was a real treat, with seafood, Korean BBQ, hot pot, and Peking duck. We used our $100 hotel credit for it, and the food and service were excellent. Breakfast was also a must, with a huge range to choose from, so make sure it’s included in your booking. The location in Shanghai is perfect, and we still recommend the hotel. Our stay would have been five stars if not for the toilet pressure problem in our room. We only discovered it after using the bathroom and unpacking, following a 15-plus-hour trip when all we wanted was to rest. Maintenance tried hard but couldn’t fix it, and we wondered whether it had just happened or should have been caught before our check-in after 8PM. We were moved to a very nice upgraded room, but the disruption was unexpected from Conrad.
