Courtyard Shanghai Xujiahui

The front desk staff and concierge were very nice, and the stay was okay overall. The location depends on what you need to do in Shanghai, but with a metro line nearby it’s all right. I was disappointed by breakfast. There wasn’t much healthy food for people with dietary needs, and at 10:30 sharp the machine switched off so I couldn’t get a refill. The staff had disappeared. The restaurant seating is terribly uncomfortable, the seats are so low you feel like you’re biting the tabletop. The lounge doesn’t serve breakfast, unlike other Marriotts, though it does have a decent choice of things. The evening meal in the lounge was average.

I spent two days at Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Xujiahui during my trip to Shanghai and had a fantastic stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable and well maintained. Staff were friendly and professional, and ready to help with requests. It’s conveniently located for shopping, dining and public transport, and was a great choice for my business and leisure travel. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai.

The lounge feels modern, and the renovated suite on the 21st floor was comfortable and nicely done. Marriott Elite recognition was good, too. I don't usually stay in this part of Shanghai, but I'd consider coming back.

The front desk team were great, friendly and ready to help, and breakfast was very good. Getting around was easy thanks to the location near the city center. The rooms were clean, though already dated, and with only two of the four elevators working, waits could get pretty long.
