Dayin International Youth Hostel - People's Square & Old Town

Tang and Wu deserve a special mention for the great service. They made us feel welcome, and we really liked the atmosphere during our comfortable stay 🤗

The rooms were tidy and the beds felt comfortable. I was here for a couple of days and liked the roomy common area too.

Dayin was a great place to stay. The friendly staff speak English, and the hostel is very clean. It has private rooms as well as an international hostel setup, plus a free gym, laundry, and hot and cold drinking water. The metro is about a 10-minute walk away. I'd definitely recommend it.

I stayed in a six-person room on the second or third floor, which is also the floor of the women's dorm, so keep that in mind. The bathrooms were clean, with plenty of toilets and showers. During my three nights and four days I never had to wait, and there was a rack for hanging a towel. Mine was still there after all four days. There was no bidet. The bed was comfortable for me at 174 cm, and I think it would suit someone 185-190 cm tall too. Storage was handy, with a shelf above and hangers at both the front and back. The room had a keycard cabinet, though it clicked when opened and shut and slammed when closed. It could be annoying early or late. Closing it gently meant it wouldn't latch. There was a slight sweaty smell in the room, maybe from poor ventilation, though I'm not especially sensitive to odors. It went away when I closed the curtains. If smells bother you, shut them and use Febreze. The hostel is tucked into a local alley, with bike parking right outside and the subway about 10 minutes away. The English-speaking staff were very helpful and seemed to be around all the time. They might be asleep if you arrive in the middle of the night. We got there at 2 a.m.; some staff were hanging out in the lobby while others were sleeping. It wasn't clear, but it seemed they lived at the hostel.
