Good.

Had an amazing time in Shanghai.

The breakfast had plenty to choose from, including made-to-order omelets, bacon, noodles, Shanghai-style buns, soy milk with fried dough sticks, fresh fruit, and handmade cakes. The hotel also has a well-equipped gym, meeting rooms, and a business center. I didn't get to try the spa or pool, though they looked well kept, so I'd like to try them next time. My high-floor king room was more spacious than I expected, with a panoramic Shanghai skyline view. It had a smart TV, free Wi-Fi, a capsule coffee machine, a safe, and a minibar. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and I slept soundly. In the bathroom, the shower and toilet were separate, water pressure was good, and the toiletries were a high-quality brand. Getting around was easy from the hotel's location in Putuo District, near subway stations and major roads. Malls and supermarkets are close by, and I felt safe walking beside Suzhou Creek after dinner. The lobby's marble floors and crystal chandeliers give it a grand look, with modern and Eastern design touches. Staff were friendly and efficient at check-in, and asked about any special needs. They made me feel at home. Gemflower Hanhai Mingyu Hotel was a pleasant surprise in busy Shanghai. To me, it balances comfort, service, and price well for a four-star hotel, whether you're here for a short business trip or a longer holiday. I'd consider staying again on a future Shanghai visit.

The rooms are clean and spacious, and breakfast is mostly Chinese, with a generous range of tasty dishes. They also have coffee, bread, and yogurt. The recently renovated and reopened four-star property now goes by GemFlowerHotel. It's outside central Shanghai in a residential and office area, but a taxi to North Bund is probably under 400 yen.
