Hanting Hotel Shanghai Bund Jiangxi Zhong Road

The hotel is right in the middle of downtown, and you can walk to The Bund in about 15 minutes. Staff get things done and answer calls promptly, though they can be curt and aren't especially friendly; they weren't rude, though. The room was clean and tidy, with clean towels, but the bathroom needs some maintenance. There were lots of holes around it, which set off my hidden-camera phobia. I think the hotel is probably okay because it's part of an established brand, but who knows. The bathroom door is semi-transparent and has no lock, so I wouldn't recommend it to friends who aren't comfortable with that. There's no wardrobe, just an open rail for hanging clothes. The room has a cable-box LCD TV, stable Wi-Fi, and the same restrictions as the rest of China's internet. Basic toiletries are provided: a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a three-in-one shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. I shared a double room with two single beds with my female friend. There was space for two 28-inch suitcases fully open and two cabin bags partly open, but with everything open there was hardly room to walk around. LOL. There's a small desk for a laptop, though it isn't firmly attached to the wall and can tip if you put pressure on one side. A wooden chair with a back and a full-length mirror sit by the door, under the clothes rail. The price is really low for such a central spot, so I'd consider staying again if I wanted to shop downtown.
