Hanting Hotel Shanghai Daning Lingshi Park

The room itself had a TV, but using it required a paid subscription, and the smart system was all in Chinese with no way to change it to English. We also found a dirty bathroom floor and stained curtains, which felt unacceptable for a hotel at this level. We’d requested a quiet room ahead of time after a 7-hour journey, but the room next door was so noisy we couldn’t sleep. Management didn’t do anything about it. When we went to reception to ask about switching rooms, we were ignored. Staff said they couldn’t speak English and used a translator to write, suggesting we ask for a refund instead of helping us. From the start, the staff seemed dismissive and unwelcoming. They handed us documents without explaining anything, and nobody told us where the room was. We had to ask a cleaner for directions. The hotel was listed as 4-star on Trip.com and advertised a mini fridge and English-speaking staff, but neither was actually available. We ended up leaving and losing €35 to the cancellation fee. Nobody apologized. It was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, and I strongly recommend avoiding it.
