The rooms were great. The setup is a bit inconvenient, though: rooms for diamond and gold members are in a separate building that's not next to the main one, so getting to the gym or restaurant meant a several-minute walk outside.

I was first put in a smoking room, then moved to another floor. The smoke was unbearable. The fine in China is too low. It's not too far from the airport and Gaotie Station, but it's a long way from downtown.

The little things people remembered made this another good stay at Hilton Garden Inn Shanghai Hongqiao NECC, which remains my preferred place to stay in Hongqiao. Jack from F&B remembered my breakfast preference every morning. Jenny patiently helped me with a front desk task one evening, even though it took extra effort. Guest Service Manager Christian was a steady presence throughout, making sure guest-facing matters were handled with assurance. And when I accidentally left my phone behind, Guest Service Manager Cyan found it quickly, contacted me, and arranged to return it safely. Assistant Front Office Manager Damien kept the team informed and made sure all the arrangements were communicated. His coordination kept things running efficiently, which I appreciated with my schedule. Front Office Manager Nikki continues to lead with consistency and attention to guests' needs. Mark and Vicky have since moved to another Hilton property, but I'm still grateful for their help. Mark once made checkout efficient and gave me a small gift that left a thoughtful impression as I was leaving. Vicky always made sure water was ready in advance, which I appreciated as someone who likes to stay hydrated. Under General Manager Christine's leadership, the team continues to keep its focus on guests and a high standard of hospitality. I look forward to returning on my next visit to Hongqiao.

A nice, clean hotel about 20 minutes from the NECC, well placed for business exhibitions around Hongqiao.
