Hilton Shanghai Greater Hongqiao

The room stayed at 28°C because the air conditioning only heated, with no cooling, and it was extremely uncomfortable. I also had to pay in advance to get laundry delivered to my room. At check-in I waited a long time, and at breakfast the staff didn't manage people cutting in line or replenish food once it ran out. The hotel looks five-star and charges at that level, but the service and hospitality were shockingly poor and unbelievably disappointing. It feels like it opened before it was properly ready.

I've never had such a bad attitude from staff at a Hilton. I ran into it several times, with a few different people at the counter.

The location is near the train station, but Didi had trouble finding the executive building and couldn't pick us up right in front. Checkout was in that same building, which is connected to the hotel by a free shuttle. Since I have Diamond status, I got a suite upgrade. The suite was spacious and clean, with a living area and very comfortable bedding. The ensuite had a huge round bathtub, much like Conrad osaka, and a Dyson hairdryer, which is standard at Hilton. A robot brought us an extra access key. The lounge was spacious and elegant, with great service. The food selection was decent quality, and the noodle soup was my favorite. Breakfast had a wide selection and was good. I'd choose this hotel again.

Executive Rooms were 5 from 5, while breakfast was 4 from 5. The location is good if you're coming for NECC EXIBITIONS, and Booking.com prices were much better. The service needs improvement. I couldn't find English-speaking staff beyond a 'Good Morning.' The swimming pool and was closed for maintenance, and there was nothing to do in the evening.
