Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Songjiang Fangta by IHG

There’s a Family Mart outside for basic food and health items, and the room was big enough, with a kettle, coffee, and Chinese tea. There was no black tea or milk. The staff were helpful, but couldn't offer much advice about things to do in Shanghai. They could book a cab for you. The included breakfast was very basic Chinese food, though there was toast with orange marmalade, coffee, and cereal too. The hotel is very far from the centre, about 2.5 hours by public transport. It was a great place, as expected.

The location is really poor. It's in a separate neighborhood outside Shanghai with nothing around. I ordered a package ahead of time, and there was a place to store it, so I found it without any trouble.

The breakfast was varied and tasty, and there's a Family Mart on the first floor. I also liked the high ceilings in the room. Everything else was great, except for the secluded location.

The room was average, and the night staff were terrible. They didn't know the answers to anything I asked. Someone had smoked in the room, and even after I reported it the next day, the situation was the same. Breakfast was limited, mostly eggs, and the card payment was a mess.
