There are lots of restaurants around, and it’s easy to get to Pudong Airport. The hotel also runs a free shuttle to Disney, which is a big plus. It’s my regular choice in Shanghai: good value, quiet, and in a clean neighborhood. I usually take a cab to the train station, and it costs around $2.

The room was fine, nothing special, and the hotel itself was nice. The location was bad for me: Line 18 Kangqiao is the nearest station, about a 25-minute walk. I managed, but it wouldn’t be good for someone with less mobility. We went up to use the pool and were told we couldn’t swim without a swimming cap. Nobody offered to sell us one, so we went back to our room.

For a family trip focused on Shanghai Disneyland, this could be a great option. The hotel is strategically placed in the city and provides a free shuttle from the hotel to Disneyland, then back again. Ask the front desk for the latest shuttle schedule.
