It’s very modern, and the people are helpful. This works well for an airport stay, or maybe if you’re going to the zoo. Downtown is a bit out of the way, but I’d still recommend it if you don’t mind the trip.

This is a convenient base between flights rather than a place for a holiday. There’s almost nothing around it, but that doesn’t really matter for a transit night. The free shuttle is reliable and takes about 25 minutes, though the hotel isn’t really as close to Pudong Airport as you might hope. Inside, it’s modern, clean, and tidy, though some wear is starting to show. Check-in was quick, and the staff were polite without making a fuss. The room is compact but thoughtfully laid out, with a soft, comfortable bed, a great modern shower, steady air conditioning, good soundproofing, and a huge TV. It was quiet and just right for resting after a flight. Breakfast was very tasty, as I’ve come to expect at Holiday Inn Express, and there was plenty to keep you from going hungry. One thing to keep in mind: there’s no way to contact the hotel. If you arrive without phone service, you could run into problems if you need to ask about the shuttle, for example. Still, it’s a dependable transit hotel, clean, peaceful, and predictable. I recommend it.

My first transit hotel stay in Pudong, Chengdu was pretty good. They even had a meal box ready because breakfast wasn’t available. The airport doesn’t seem far, but the shuttle bus takes a long detour.

For 1,5xx, the room was spacious, clean, and new, and the staff were lovely. Breakfast had a good variety and tasted good, though we barely had time to eat before rushing for the airport shuttle. Our flight was delayed by four hours, so we got to the hotel late. Thankfully, there was a mini-mart next door for snacks and instant noodles.
