The neighborhood made this a good fit for me: everyday shops, plenty of restaurants and snack bars, and the charming, less touristy old town of Xichang just steps away. The rooms are clean and modern, with enough space without feeling too small, and the service is friendly. Staff aren't fluent in English, but using apps to communicate was easy and professional. I picked it to cut down my trip to the airport while staying somewhere pleasant instead of a typical airport hotel. Didi takes about 20 minutes to the airport. You can get to the nearest subway station by bus or another Didi. If you're exploring central Shanghai, this probably isn't the right base. But for someone who already knows the city and wants some local flavor, it's a nice, very affordable option.
