Hyatt Place Shanghai Hongqiao CBD Hotel

The breakfast was disappointing, but otherwise it’s great if you need to stay in this area. Walking from Hongqiao station is tough, but doable if you keep at it.

Everything was so good. The rooms were clean, and the staff were helpful, with good service at the restaurant and everywhere else. There’s a kitchen in the room. I’m vegetarian and stayed here on 3rd June from kolkata india. The restaurant management staff were really good. I’d love to come back again and again.

This is a great option if you need to be near Hongqiao airport and Shanghai train station. The train station is about a 7 min walk away, and you can catch the subway there, so getting downtown isn’t too bad. Rates are much lower than in downtown Shanghai without a drop in quality. Rooms are consistently clean, fresh, and smoke-free. There’s a couch that makes a small living area, plus a kitchen with cooking accessories. The TV is in an awkward spot, but it’s not a deal breaker since you probably won’t watch TV in China. Each room also has a scale that measures body fat, which is handy if you need to check it every day. The staff are friendly and helpful. The gym is clean and new, though small and limited in workout options. You can get free bottled water there. The hotel food is good, and the nearby shopping center has more choices.

The price was right, the property was great, and the rooms were awesome, so here’s why I’m giving it three stars. Google puts the hotel about 1 km from where it actually is. If you give the address to a driver, they have to call the hotel to work out where it is. At check-in, I pointed out the problem to the staff. They just smiled and said it wasn’t their issue. I suggested they correct the Google Maps listing, and got another smile and nod, but nothing was done.
