The breakfast area and lobby on the 42nd floor are stunning. There was a good range of food, including sweet, crunchy honeydew melon and decent watermelon. Don't miss the live noodle station, where the chefs serve delicious noodles with Shanghai's signature spicy sauce. The bakery croissants were crisp outside, soft inside, and authentically delicious. This Hyatt is in Jiading, Shanghai, a bit far from main sights like the Bund, and it seems to draw mostly business travelers. My room was spacious, well lit, and smoke-free, with a glimpse of the Shanghai Poly Theater. The queen-size bed had a good balance of softness and support, and the pillows supported me well enough for a comfortable sleep. The bathroom had a bathtub for soaking, plus a shower with good pressure and hot water that came quickly. Some toiletries might not be provided, so it's best to ask at check-in. There was a safe and fire masks in the room. My main gripes were the limited TV selection, with too many local channels, and the possibility of missing toiletries. More international channels would be appreciated. It was a comfortable stay overall.
