The subway is a 7-10 minute walk away, so the location isn't especially convenient. It feels like an area where locals are going about their everyday routines. I also found the lobby scent unpleasant, like rancid rice, and it seemed to be used across this hotel brand. Getting online was a hassle too. They couldn't register me without a local phone number, and said I'd have to go down to the lobby just to use the internet. If your rate says breakfast is included, you may not need to choose that option since it seems to be a free-for-all. I wouldn't recommend staying at this local hotel brand.

Getting around was easy, with the hotel near the train station in the city center and a minimart. My room was spotless, and the staff were very helpful. You can order deliveries, then a cute robot brings them up to your room.

The location is good, but for this price I don't think the trade-off is worth it. The walls are so thin you can hear everything in nearby rooms, including throat clearing and spitting. Those sounds woke me at 1:00 am, then again at 3 am. There are cosmetic renovations that make some areas look nicer, but don't let that fool you. The second floor had stale cigarette smells that seemed to get into everything. Maybe you'll get a quiet, fresh room, but you could also arrive and regret your choice.

What stood out most was how friendly the staff were, from housekeeping to the breakfast cooks. They were much nicer than anywhere we've experienced in Europe so far, even though we live there. The buffet was huge, with lots of choices, and everything tasted really good. The location is right in central Shanghai, with plenty of food around. There's a subway station and underground mall nearby with some great restaurants. Our room was modern, the air conditioning worked well and didn't smell old or dirty, and the Wi-Fi was fast. The TV was huge. The bed was comfortable, with two kinds of pillows, and the quilt was warm. Bedding and towels were spotless. I also loved the scents of the toiletries. They provided unlimited bottled water and packets of good Chinese tea in every room. All in all, we had a great stay. Whenever we're in China from now on, we'll look for this chain.

The hotel had a really pleasant fragrance throughout, and the food was great, especially at the noodle station. A very pleasant stay.
