Breakfast had a decent range, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well kept during my four nights at Jinglai Hotel Selection on Hutai Road in Shanghai. The staff were very kind and helpful, though they didn’t speak English. I only missed having a bidet shower in the bathroom. It was a pleasant stay and good value for the money.

The room was comfortable, though I could hear people talking outside. I got around by Didi, so the location wasn’t an issue for me. The staff were great about accommodating requests, and they let me check out late too. Special thanks to "WANG XIN LONG" 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏, who got me sugar for my coffee when I checked in very late with a headache. It may seem like a small thing, but I really appreciated it. Thanks, guys. Shanghai was worth visiting for 24 hours. Adiossss.....

The free laundry was useful, but there are only two machines and they were often taken. Cleaning could have been better too: dust and bits of dirt remained in the corners, and the windows looked like they hadn't been washed for a long time. For the price it's not a bad hotel, but after trusting the high ratings, I felt let down. It was much worse than we'd expected from the reviews.

Getting around was a real hassle. The hotel is far from the subway, so we had to take taxis. The view is limited and you can hear a lot through the walls, though the price is cheap.
