I first started coming to this Japanese restaurant on Wuzhong Road in 2016, and I was there again last month for a meal with senior government officials. The food is delicious and, by Shanghai standards, reasonably priced: around RMB¥1300++ for three people. At a high-end Japanese restaurant in Shanghai, a comparable meal would usually cost two or three times as much. Wuzhong Road is home to many senior government servants and officers, and Xuhui is within walking distance.

Our company dinner was held at the hotel restaurant. The food was delicious, though the service was just so-so.

This hotel feels pretty old. There was construction noise outside late at night, too.

The staff were incredibly helpful and patient with me, even though my Chinese is pretty limited.
