Lotel

The resident peacocks are a nice extra, and the hotel sits right beside a canal. It's a lovely boutique place, like an oasis, though it's about 30 from the city center. The buildings are new, and everything felt clean, quiet, safe, and professionally run. My room was clean and comfortable too. The nearest subway station isn't too far.

I stayed 26 days in the loft studio, duplexed room, and it was fantastic. The hotel is quiet, the staff are very responsive, and the lemon cafe food was delicious, with both western and Chinese choices. It's the cleanest hotel I've stayed in in mainland china, and a great deal. I'd stay again. This place is a hidden gem! The location isn't the most convenient, but the hotel quality makes up for it. The closest subway, line 1, is about a 10-minute easy walk, or six minutes if you walk briskly.

I got the cheapest single room and it was a really good deal. The place is clean and quiet. It's tucked away, so have a map ready and ask the hotel staff how to direct the taxi driver.

The breakfast was reasonable and included, and the hotel itself is modern and good. The location is awful, though. I only booked it because it was the base for a university trip, and it still took forever to get anywhere.
