Moxy Shanghai Putuo

I only stayed one night at Moxy Shanghai Putuo while passing through Shanghai. It's a newer, modern hotel with reasonable prices, and my compact room turned out a little bigger than I expected. The room type I booked came with a small outdoor area, more like a private courtyard than a balcony. I couldn't really use it because of the weather. The metro is about five minutes away on foot, and 1000 Trees shopping mall is very close. M50 Art District and the Suzhou Creek riverside walk are nearby too, and nice to explore. The street around the hotel is busy, though a short walk brings you to quieter parks and walking paths. The rooms follow the minimal Moxy style, with hardly any storage. For a stay longer than a night or two, you'd probably be living out of your suitcase. Check-in happens at the bar. The staff were friendly, but their English was quite limited. There's a small gym with a couple of treadmills and a few machines. I tried breakfast: a small, good buffet, plus freshly prepared options such as noodles or eggs. A solid, fairly priced choice for a short stay.
