The service felt like 10 stars, even though the hotel is listed as a 5-star option. The staff were friendly, and Xie Shui Xia at reception was especially kind and helpful. A very excellent hotel.

At about 240 RMB a night, this is a great deal. The rooms and hotel complex were super clean, and the internet worked great. The rooms had basic items and bath accessories. There are lots of restaurants nearby, though getting to the metro takes around a 12-minute walk, which can be a hassle. Downtown is four metro stops away. Breakfast is a Chinese buffet with limited choices. It had sausages, boiled eggs, Chinese sautéed vegetables, dumplings, corn, fried noodles, coffee, and tea. I was surprised there was a toaster. The coffee was warm, and the hot water wasn’t boiling hot.

The room had a cigarette smell, and the nearest station was about a 20-minute walk along a bumpy road. Taking a taxi solved that for me. Otherwise, I had a comfortable stay: it was inexpensive, breakfast was included, the outlets matched the Japanese type, and some staff spoke Japanese. I booked a standard hotel through HIS, and this was the property they assigned.

There’s a FamilyMart, fruit shop, and liquor store within walking distance. The subway felt a little far away, but the hotel was decent overall, even though it has fewer stars than some others. The Chinese staff seemed a bit reserved and hard to approach, but they handled problems well. I think maybe only about half the rooms had bathtubs. There was a bidet. The hairdryer was practically broken, and I didn’t use my own because I was concerned about the voltage.

There’s a privately run convenience store right in front, and you can exchange money at the front desk. Breakfast is included, with one bottle of water in the room, and Japanese TV is available. It’s a motel-style hotel, though the old moldy smell hits as soon as you open the door. There’s no safe or refrigerator. I also took a while to find the hairdryer, which was tucked in a bedside table drawer.
