I wish I could rate it below one. I'm pretty sure this wasn't a real Holiday Inn. I stayed there a couple of years ago, and I still remember how awful it was.

The riverfront location made it easy to walk to the Bund, other sights, and the metro, and there was a nice view from our window. We were happy with the stay, especially since it was affordable for Shanghai. You can do laundry there and communicate in English. It could use a refresh, and it wasn't especially clean even back in 2017. Also, the riverside cyclists woke us up in the morning. They kept ringing their bells as they rode to work, and only stopped when they stopped.
