Shanghai Liang You Hotel

The area was quiet, and getting to the main attractions was easy. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It isn’t fancy, but it was a great place to stay.

We stayed for five nights and would recommend it. The location was handy, about a 10-minute walk from the metro and just one stop from the train station. The simple, modern room looked even better than it did in the pictures, had all the facilities we expected, and the beds were really comfortable.

The service stood out, especially the cleanliness and reception, and the rooms were spacious. Breakfast had plenty of choice, though it leaned more toward Asian tastes, so we mostly had salads, eggs, and fruit each morning. There was complimentary tea available all day, too. The location was excellent and I’d recommend the hotel. No internet without a VPN.

Housekeeping did a really good job, but I wouldn’t stay here again. The front desk barely spoke English, and the default answer to questions or requests seemed to be no. They weren’t flexible about anything. Noise from people coming and going in the corridor in the middle of the night made it very hard to sleep.
