Shanghai Marriott Hotel Kangqiao

The hotel was handy for a Disney visit, with a free shuttle, and a taxi to Pudong airport the next day was close enough that we didn't need an especially early start for our 8:00am check-in. The downside for me was the nearest Metro station being over 4km away, so I took a taxi to the hotel instead of using public transport from the flight. Our room was clean and nicely presented. Staff were attentive and helped with our luggage, and the concierge desk was very helpful with parcels I'd had delivered. The Executive lounge was well stocked and staffed during Happy hour.

Luis and Lucas were especially friendly and helpful. Luis patiently helped us download essential apps, suggested places to visit, and made sure we had what we needed. Lucas was attentive and supportive too. The room was spacious and clean, and we had a pleasant stay overall. The location worked well for nearby attractions like Disneyland and the Wildlife Zoo, though it's a bit far from the city center. Our only real negative was the pool lifeguard, who was quite rude and put a slight damper on things. We'd still recommend the hotel, especially for a visit focused on nearby attractions.

Very clean, with spacious rooms and warm, attentive staff. The service was outstanding, and it's close to the major sights, including Shanghai Disneyland, just 11 minutes away. I'd recommend it to anyone.

The location felt like the middle of nowhere, and we had to take a taxi just to reach the Metro. Rooms were poor quality, more like what I'd expect at a Four Points hotel. The facilities were often out of service: no hot tub, steam room, or sauna, and swimming wasn't allowed without those China caps. The service was the worst part. Staff didn't seem to care about guests or want to help, and they made lots of mistakes for elite members. Restaurant staff argued and cursed in front of guests without hesitation. The food was terrible pretty much across the board. A very disappointing Marriott hotel.
