For my work, the location is handy, and the hotel itself is clean and cozy. Some rooms may smell of smoke, though. Tourists or people attending exhibitions might find it less convenient. There aren’t European restaurants or cafés nearby, just a Chinese neighborhood.

The rooms are a good size and better than what I’ve had at more prestigious, pricier chains. They’re well equipped with comforts and kept up really well, and the staff are helpful and efficient in a clean setting. The hotel has been acquired by the Double Trees (HILTON) chain since my earlier visit. The standard is still high for the price. When I’m back in Shanghai, you know where to find me!

I spent a night here just before National Day. It’s a handy base for weekend trips to Guyi Garden and Nanxiang Old Street, and for having Nanxiang steamed buns. The facilities seem to be among the better end of the Holiday Inn brand. Breakfast was just average, though the lunch set meal was very reasonably priced.
