Shanghai Qiyu B & B

We were woken around 6 AM by a noise like a vacuum cleaner that went on for more than half an hour, but apart from that the stay was fine and the price was very reasonable. There are lots of cherry blossom trees nearby, and the guesthouse has a distinctive feel even though the buildings are in a typical rural style. It’s near Disneyland and there’s a shuttle service. A young man carried our luggage to the room, and the young woman was very nice. Getting Meituan orders was easy and convenient. We stayed for two nights. There’s no elevator, so it may not suit anyone with mobility issues.

There’s a shopping center nearby, which makes the location very convenient. The rooms use voice controls like Apple’s Siri, but they only work in Mandarin, so that limits who can use them. The staff speak very little English, and it can be hard to get help from reception after 10 PM because they’re often unavailable.
